Do I have to have rest time?
Yes. Rest periods are an essential part of the Oralift programme.
Oralift works through short periods of use followed by recovery. Adaptation does not occur from continuous wear, but from the balance between neuromuscular cueing and adequate rest.
Wearing Oralift for longer does not produce better results and, in some cases, may lead to signs of overuse. This is why the programme includes structured rest time.
Many of the changes people notice consolidate during rest rather than during active wear. Rest does not reverse progress; instead, it allows the body to integrate the change.
During rest periods, it is helpful to remain aware of habits such as clenching or unnecessary tooth contact, as these can reintroduce muscular holding. Monitoring with photographs can help you observe gradual changes over time.
If you ever notice changes you do not like, this should be treated as a sign to reduce wear time or extend your rest period.
