Where should the device sit, behind or over the front teeth?

The important part of the device is the blocks which help to create the new resting position of the jaw. The thermoplastic material helps to secure the blocks to the bottom teeth. Ideally, the thermoplastic material should sit behind the front teeth but if it goes on top or in front of the lower teeth, this is not critical. It was designed this way for aesthetic reasons so that the lower lip does not look so bulky.
